Proud Dad - Post #1

Hi everybody, I'm Father of the Bride and I'm proud and honored to be posting for Jessie while she is on her honeymoon in San Francisco.

The wedding was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to share some of the details with you.
Jessie was totally stressed during the weeks and days before the wedding, right up to the day of the event. I was party to the party with the Crown Royal with my future son-in-law the evening before the event and both Jessie and her mother were none too happy about it. But we survived and the day had dawned cloudy with promises of possible afternoon and evening thunder showers. Just what Jessie had been fearing. The fiance and I both had clouds in our heads as well. I offered to slit his throat to drain the blood from his eyes, but he wisely opted for the coffee instead. Wise choice I think...

The weather got worse, with drops of rain blown in by a blustering wind on the way to the event. I had been rehearsing and re-rehearsing my F.O.B. speech all day, not to mention all week and all month. I was as nervous as Jessie. After I got my tux on and hung out with the guys in our sequestered room upstairs, I wandered down to the bridal suite where Jessie and the girls were getting ready. When I walked into the room I was unprepared for the emotions that swept over me as I witnessed the incredible vision before me; my little girl was the most vibrant, radiant, and beautiful bride-to-be I have ever seen. The feeling was absolutely indescribable and I was caught up in the moment like never before. Jessie now had the task of calming me down after having done nearly everything to put this event together. We then proceeded to entertain ourselves by peeking out the windows to the seating area and watching the guests being seated.
The wind had stopped and the sun came out and was streaming beams of light through the trees, highlighting the scene before us. It was fairytale magical.
The moment was here, all the guests were seated, the groom and groomsmen were in place as were all of the bride's maids. We were in the foyer of the house, beautiful bride on my arm and I have never loved my daughter more, or been more proud in my life. The attendants opened the doors and all eyes were turned expectantly toward us as we walked on to the porch and descended the stairs to the walk of my life. I wanted this moment to last forever and I know it will. My eyes are streaming with tears as I write this...

It was amazing. As we walked through the arbor and approached the guests, we paused for a moment and then made our final approach. We savored it fully and I am proud to say this was the best day of my life so far.

Here we are as we made the final approach.

The happy couple.

My gorgeous and wonderful daughter.

Here she is with her adoring flower girls, Elise and Anika.
