Chip-free

So. Who's ready for Christmas in 10 days??? I'm not. Not one bit. No tree, no lights, no decorations, no presents purchased....nada. I suck. However, I do find that I work well under pressure so come next weekend I have a feeling there will be a Christmas miracle and I can check all my to-do's off my list. Anyone else with me? :)
.
I had an amazing breakfast yesterday, it was a greener variation of my savory oats. I got the idea to add avocado from fellow bloggette, Katie, from Yes, I Want Cake. Thanks for the idea girl! This was the best bowl of savory oatmeal to date.
Made with:
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, mixed into the hot oats
  • 2 eggs scrambled with baby spinach
  • avocado
  • Cholula (I finished off the bottle!)
Mid-morning snack:Lunch was eaten snack-style: veggies, kabocha, hummus for dippage and a honeycrisp apple.
After work I went to the dentist to get a chip in my front tooth fixed. I'm sure I've mentioned how klutzy I am, right? Well, this is the second time I've had this chip filled. Apparently I don't know how to drink out of glasses, I always bang them against my teeth. It's nothing too terrible but I hate anything asymmetrical and this is a big one for me.

Before: (It's the front tooth on your right)

If you look closely you can see another giant asymmetry with my teeth. You know your canines? (Most dentists call them cuspids.) Well, I only have one. On the left, you can see that it goes straight from the bi-cuspid to the molar. Annoying. I had to have surgery when I was a pre-teen to get it out. Apparently it was growing in behind my front teeth so they peeled the roof of my mouth back and just stole it.

After: Yay! They're even again!!!

Happy Jessie. Ignore my crow's feet please...ugh.Afternoon smoothie: Made with 1 scoop chocolate Spiru-tein, soy milk, frozen raspberries, spinach and ice. It turned a horrible swamp-like color from the spinach.
I don't know why I was craving a smoothie so badly when it was 30 degrees out but I have figured out the best way to drink it without freezing. In a mug, with a handle, eaten with a spoon, under a blanket, with the heat on, sitting on the floor on top of a heater vent. Just make sure not to bang your newly chip-free tooth against the spoon! The husband makes fun of me for sitting on the heater vent because (smoothie or not) I can usually be found perched on top of it in our living room with a large blanket tented around me.
.
I broke out a new box of whole wheat pasta for dinner.
I used half the box to make tuna noodle casserole. As soon as the cats heard the can opener they came running - they love their tuna water.
On the menu: Tuna noodle casserole and balsamic/garlic asparagus.
My plate. I even want back for seconds on the casserole, soo good!
Workout: 5 miles on the stationary bike and tons of stretching.

Question: What is the first thing you notice about a person when you meet them? Mine is their teeth. Always. I suppose that explains my obsession with my own.

  7. I do notice teeth....you have very nice white teeth!

I notice how a person eats right away - I hate loud eaters who chew with their mouth open, weird but I loathe it!

  8. Those are NOT crows feet! Those are laugh/smile lines, and they mean that you live a lucky life full of smiles and laughter. Never trust anyone that doesn't have smile/laugh lines :-)

  11. You have gorgeous teeth. So white and nicely shaped. A good reason to smile!

I notice face shape...round, square, oval, etc.I know that's weird, but I hate the shape of my face, so I am always looking at others.

I always notice height, especially if it's a woman and she is taller than me. Doesn't happen that often, I'm sure you can relate!
