Mid-morning snack:
Snack Lunch: Bell pepper, apple and salmon w/cottage cheese.
.
I went into the store with a list of three items: bananas, almond butter and tortillas. I grabbed a basket and wandered about the store. Side note: the best way for me to control my spending in grocery stores? Baskets instead of carts!
.
Twenty minutes later I left with my bananas, almond butter & tortillas. As well as: 4 tubs of Oikos, garlic bread, 2 Clif bars, 2 Larabars, one Z-bar, 2 Clif Mojo bars, black beans, 2 Cookies & Cream Spiru-tein packets, no calorie peanut spread (more on that later), Kashi Go Lean, and a partridge in a pear treeeeee. Whoops.
.
Afternoon snacks: I noshed on one of the Mojo bars in the parking lot on the way home.
.
Tempeh stir fry with broccoli, carrots, Bragg's, garlic, fresh ginger, sesame seeds and toasted sesame oil.
Other bites, licks & tastes: Some almond butter straight from the jar before dinner. (You'll see why tomorrow morning....OIAJ!)
.
Workout: Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred. For the first time, this workout did not feel challenging. Time for heavier weights? :)

Question for you: What's one weird dream you've had lately?? Last night I dreamed that someone loaded a gun with grilled cheese and tomato and shot my husband. I woke up in the middle of the night crying. Then I went back to sleep and had a dream that I was Janetha, tracked the shooter down and kicked his ass. :)
.
I keep track of my grocery money, but I'd rather go over and enjoy eating than limit myself. I agree it's just worth it.
ReplyDeleteLast night I had some dream about me and my grandmother being killed, but then I could go back and respond to the killers differently and try to "win" like it was a video game. Not so much weird as scary
i dont really have a budget either!! your cookies and cream looks DELISH girl
ReplyDeleteI definitely always go to the grocery store for "one or two items" and leave with much more. No food budget, either! I spend lots of my monthly budget on food, but at least it's healthy stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteCute painted mugs. I have some I painted too and just love them!
haha I do the same thing when i go to a grocery store .. if I need apples.. I will leave with apples. plus soy milk, salsa (i can have like 4 jars of salsa). cereal, etc.. Things I dont need.. but oh so love.
ReplyDeletehaha I never walk into a grocery store and just get what was on my list!! its so bad! those mojo bars are utterly addicting! the sweet and salty combo is the devil! (in a good way!)
ReplyDeleteNo budget here! LOVE the additions to your grocery cart though! Garlic bread, Spiru-tein, Mojos - yum.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dream! Haha! I have a crush on a particular athlete (I mean, who doesn't!?) and I dreamed we were dating. It was great!
LAUGHING MY ASS OFF! hahahahaha.. your dream has me in tears! the weirder thing is another blog friend just emailed me telling me i was in her dream. random. and the bit about the GC & tomato gun?! AWESOME. haha. i love the "use for oatmeal" pile reference. that is hilarious. i am the same way with food. i spend the most on it and i spend a lot. and i dont care. maybe when i have a family i will care but for now.. just me! hahaha.. and a parrrrtridge in a peeear treeeeee!
ReplyDeletei don't have a food budget too. i don't do well with limits and food.
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the basket thing. the only problem is that I load it up anyway and then some grocery clerk comes and offers me a cart because he sees I'm toting around 50 pounds of groceries in a basket and the circulation in my arm is being cut off!
ReplyDeleteI love your cup- very talented!
i had a dream that Lara from Thinspired (who I've met), Jenn from Eating bender (who I haven't met) and I were hanging out and they were wearing bikinis but I was too timid :-D Ah the decaying mind.
Your comments have been cracking me up all over the blogosphere by the way- hilarious sense of humor!
I'm totally with you on the thinking about meals before it's time for them thing. I am always at least 3 meals ahead. My husband doesn't know what he is going to have until 5 minutes before he has it. It's so weird to me!
ReplyDeleteI will never understand people who hate the grocery store and have no idea what they're going to be eating for the next two meals (okay, at least the next meal.)
ReplyDeleteI am in the grocery store a few times a week and get what I need and want, within reason. No set budget, as I would rather cut back anywhere else than in the food department!
