A little about me

This isn't really one of those "About Me" posts but I just liked the concept. My mom once sent me a magnet she found since it describes me to a T.
Well, it almost describes me. I don't really like poetry. :)
.
One thing I do like is experimenting with new breakfast combinations. Yesterday I tried a simple bowl of Kashi Warm Cinnamon Heart to Heart with a banana, some almond butter and soy milk.I normally don't add almond butter to cereal but I wanted some healthy fat to help keep me satisfied until lunch. I actually split the banana in half, spread some AB on it and then sliced it as well as I could over the cereal. I liked it but there's something strange to me about soy milk and almond butter. They don't blend well.
It did, however, keep my hunger at bay until lunchtime. One good thing about working later on Fridays is that I can eat breakfast later than usual and not have to eat a snack mid-morning to keep me going.
.
Lunch was leftover Cabbage Roll Casserole w/Cholula, a whole orange bell pepper and an apple.
Afternoon snack: Cookie Friday! (sort of)
I like to open these up and nibble on them for the last two hours of my Friday shift. It makes the bar last longer and I feel like I get more out of it. Not that inhaling it within 4 minutes is bad but I like to savor my food and take tiny, little bites.
.
Dinner was out at one of our fav local restaurants - Austin's. I started with one of my favorite drinks from there, a greyhound.
My horribly blurry dinner was a salmon salad with lime cilantro vinaigrette dressing and a couple pieces of flatbread.Dessert: Two little handfuls of cereal for my sweet tooth.
Question: What's something about you that not many others know? Going off that magnet from above - when I was little, my mom's cat died. We lived out in the country so we buried all our pets near our house and when we were putting her in the ground I said, "Mom, her eyes are open."
.
Crying, she said, "Yeah, they are."
.
I then asked, "Can I poke it with a stick??"
.

I'm a new follower of your blog and I have to say I enjoy it so far. I really am interested in how you "graze" instead of doing larger meals throughout the day.

If you get a chance feel free to swing by and check out my blog.

    Have a great weekend.

  7. I'm the same with bars. I like little bites and letting them sit in my mouth.

About me: I really enjoy the treadmill and watching TV while on it. People assume treadmill = dreadmill but not for me

I don't think many people know that I love the smell of garages. House ones, not like big parking garages. My family thinks it's so weird!

  12. Coming out of lurkdom to talk about alcohol. Nice.

A little background first... I stumbled across your blog within weeks of having moved from Fort Collins to Northern CO. That was months ago, now. It was so fun to be reading your blog when you would mention things that were so familiar to me. I've also really enjoyed seeing all the "new to me" foods that you eat and it's gotten me to get more creative. I'm definitely a work in process!

Anyway, what got me to speak up here is the greyhound from Austins. Have you ever had the Rangpour Greyhound from Enzio's? They are the best! I could drink them for breakfast! I can't remember the name of the bartender that usually works there, but he makes them better than anyone else can.

Anyway, keep up the good work! You're inspiring!

  13. hello I'm a new reader. I was looking at your Dec 1 entry about the rubber stamps. I think I solved the mystery of what "sorry about that" referred to.

The picture actually shows a screw being screwed tight. So it kinda mean "sorry about screwing up". Hope this helps. :)
