So glad you all like those bread recipes! They're perfect for the holidays. Let me know if anyone makes them, I'd love to see how it turns out. I feel like a bit of a fake since both of those recipes are from my mom and I've never baked either of them! Maybe I should make some too huh?? I've been lucky enough to be the taste tester so I know how amazing they are.
- 1/2 cup oats
- 3/4 cup water
- half a banana
- cinnamon
- apricot jam
- cashew butter

It was a
cold cold morning yesterday. It was hard to take a picture of (even at a stop light) but here's what my temp gauge on my Jeep said on the way to work. 2 degrees.
Brrr. As soon as I parked and got out of my car the inside of my nose froze solid. That's fun. It also resulted in a bloody nose later in the day. My first of the year.

Mid-morning snack: heart shaped apple

Lunch: Clif PB
pretzel Mojo, veggies & hummus with daily apple #2.

I came home to an interesting & unexpected package from UPS on my couch. I'm still confused about it. It's from a company that I'm familiar with and purchase from on a regular basis but haven't been in contact with. I have absolutely no idea how they got my address. Scary. Free stuff though, so I can't complain! I'm going to do a bit more investigation on it but I would like to add that there will be a
giveaway soon so keep checking back!

Afternoon snack: The rest of the pumpkin plum walnut loaf with Sunbutter
Dinner was a
quesadilla for me and burritos for Dave. I made a small one with Amy's low sodium
refried beans, extra sharp cheddar cheese, grilled zucchini slices and some taco meat.

I also had some steamed broccoli with
BBQ sauce & topped my
quesadilla with some
Cholula and homemade salsa from Dave's mom. Dave is so protective over this salsa, we only get a few jars a year and he protects them like a mama bear protects her cubs.

TGIF! Anyone have any fun plans this weekend? Saturday is supposed to be nice (sunny & 30-something degrees) but Sunday through Tuesday we're looking at a high of 25 and SNOW.....bah!
.
Question: Do you get nose bleeds in the winter? I used to get them really bad as a kid but now it's just when the weather is dry. Dave suffers too so last year we finally sprung for an in-furnace humidifier which has worked wonders. Our windows are always foggy & wet though...

Enjoy your weekend!
I want snow :-( And DAMN that is cold.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I need to rest... a lot
BLAH.. Im not a snow fan!! Bundle up!!
ReplyDeleteLove your lunch.. so delish :)
I hate when the inside of your nose freezes!! It's so uncomfortable! Stay warm!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh mystery package!!
I can't believe how cold it is! Your oatmeal looks so good with that homemade jam- yum!
ReplyDeleteI have only had a couple of nosebleeds but since winters are so mild here, I'm sure it was not related.
fortunately no nose bleeds over here. phew! my best friend would get them all the time. i always felt so bad for her!
ReplyDeleteeats look good there lady! :)
I don't get nose bleeds as it blood dribbling down my face, but in the desert I always get blood boogers. Sorry, TMI! :-) And my ears pop even though I don't think there's an elevation change! :-/
ReplyDeleteYour nail polish is cool!
As you can see in my post the other day, we have more than a FOOT of snow right now, it's freezing and they're predicting a big storm for the end of this week. So. Not. Cool.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I had to chime in because I always got bloody noses when I was little, and still get them in the winter. I have a humidifier in my room, but the office is so dang dry that it doesn't help things...try Vaseline to keep your nostrils moist. Okay, that sounds gross. Just don't poke it with a stick :)
