True love

The bitter cold is somewhat subsiding. This morning my temperature gauge said it was 0 degrees. That's 25 degrees warmer than yesterday morning. I don't know about anyone else but to me, anything under 10 degrees is just cold. I don't feel much of a difference no matter how low it gets. Cold is cold. It's funny since I can tell a major difference from when my house thermostat is at 65 versus 70. HUGE difference there. Weird.
.
Brainiac that I was, I decided to have a cold breakfast the morning of the big temperature drop. Not my smartest move. I did think to start my car before sitting down to eat it so I would have heat on my way to work, thank god.
  • one container plain Chobani
  • 1/4 cup muesli (soaked overnight)
  • sliced banana
  • cinnamon
  • MaraNatha crunchy almond butter

Mid-morning snack:Lunch was leftover potato cabbage soup with Cholula and an apple. Afternoon snackage: Baked tofu and tempeh. Plus my attempt to be creative...A few canned plums sent from my mom. My parents have a plum tree. Not the prettiest food but I wanted something sweet and these hit the spot.

Dave called and mentioned that he was running late so I just snacked my way through dinner. First I ruined my appetite with three dates stuffed with Earth Balance almond butter. I'm not a fan of the Earth Balance, the end of the jar has gotten really crumbly and that's without storing it in the fridge. I'm not sure it's worth keeping - there's only about 2 servings left. Maybe I'll add it to some cookies or brownies.

Part two of dinner was a couple sweet potatoes baked into "fries".I ate half the pan. Then I got greedy and just finished off the rest. Fries don't make good leftovers in my opinion.

Workout: 7 miles on stationary bike. That combined with the strength training from the day before is going to KILL my quads for the next couple days. I'm already hobbling around. Is it sad that I'm thrilled whenever I'm sore?

Random Conversation: (we were on the topic of body hair...)

Dave: "Aren't you glad that I'm not some hairy gorilla?"

Me: "Yeah, I don't think I'd be too fond of back-shaving."

Dave: "You would actually shave it?"

Me: "Well, yeah. If you asked me to."

Dave: "That's true love right there."
