Big Thank You & Some Groceries

Guys!! I love you all. Really.

I sort of felt like a complete idiot/whiner with all I said in yesterday's post. I was being completely honest, a feature I love about blogs because I truly do have so much to be thankful for in my life - regardless of the amount of friends I have. I'm happy a lot of you can relate to how hard it is to keep loyal friends around, it really made me feel better about my current situation. Thank you so much.

Today I have a work training all day in Golden, CO so I will be going through Google Reader withdrawals all day I'm sure. I typed this post up last night so no dinner photos but I think it will be leftover Chicken Fried Steak anyway so you're not missing much.

Breakfast yesterday was an old classic - toast!I can't remember the last time I had toast for breakfast. Two pieces of millet bread with MaraNatha almond butter & banana slices. I also took the other half of my bottle of POM Wonderful juice with me to drink on my way.
Lunch was a yogurt mess of sorts - I had been trying to get more veggies in at lunch lately but realized that it doesn't make me happy if I force it. I always say "go with your cravings" so this time I went with what I knew I would love.
I mixed some almond butter, cinnamon and flaxseed into a container of plain Oikos the night before.
Then topped it with an apple and half a cup of puffed brown rice cereal.
One word: EPIC.
Afternoon snack: Kombucha and a spicy cheese stick.
I had a chiropractor appointment after work & his office just happens to be next to Sunflower Market so I ran in for a small grocery shop.

Produce:
Condiments: The essential ones...at least for me.
Dairy:
Fun Foodie Impulse Items:
Bars: I don't normally go this crazy but all the Clif items were on sale for .89 each.
This Luna protein bar was staring me down so I think it will be gone before dinner.....
Like I said, I'm at a training all day so I'll be catching up with your lives tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to lunch out with all my co-workers. Don't get me wrong, the people are great, we all get along very well but the food options?? Either a fast food chain (Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Sonic) or some crappy Chinese restaurant. Which would you pick? I'm going with Subway - even though I can't eat wheat, I think they can make any sub into a salad.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

  1. I'm the worst when it comes to bad food options. I'll go to a chinese place and have them give me a chicken, sauce, and veggie dish without the chicken or the sauce.
    Hope your day goes well!

  3. I can't remember the last time I had toast for breakfast either- I don't know why I always go for some sort of yogurt combo as fall back. What are the Luna cookie dough bars like? I LOVE cookie dough Balance bars :D

Lunch... I kind of like Subway in a pinch, but if I can get steamed chicken/tofu and brown rice in a Chinese place with sauce on the side, I would get that. Or steamed vegetable dumplings and soup.

I would pick Subway, Taco Bell (taco salad, yum) or Chinese. Good luck!

  5. Work lunches--ech. The thing is that every salad shop can usually cater to "healthier" requests, so you're a little saved there.

It's funny, but I'm always trying to work more fruit INTO my meals instead of veggies and you're the opposite. Dried fruit has never been a big thing with me, but I recently had dried apricots (as you purchased) and fell in lust with them. SOOO good.

  6. I get such bad anxiety when I have to go out to a restaurant that has less than healthy options. I usually just order the smallest thing on the menu and then eat MY food that I have packed aftewards. I'm a freak. Good luck today!

  7. I totally agree with you! women are bitches!! I have a few girlfriends in every city that I go to though. It helps if they have the same interests as you. I met all of my friends in Germany through the gym. I know that I will have to make friends when we move to Washington this summer, and that is when I will have to pull myself out of my comfort zone and get out there! Good luck!
