Exercise or Healthy Eating?

Do you guys notice anything new about my blog??

If you're on Reader you might not but if you're on my page, look up at the address bar. That's right, I'm a .com now!! I finally sucked it up and bought my own domain. I'm still technically using Blogger but I'm hoping to change that sometime when I find someone who can teach me how.

Unfortunately the bittersweet part is that I lost ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS from my past posts!! I am NOT happy about that at all. I like to go back and read them every now and then. :( Not anymore...

You should be automatically directed to my new address when you type it in but let me know if it doesn't work ok? Well, I guess if it doesn't work you won't be reading this will you? Crap.

The past few days here in Colorado we've been enjoying wonderful 60-70 degree weather. Today, I'm at work & the parking lot looks like this:

Recent eats: Yoatgurt in an almost empty Fage container with blueberries & Sunbutter.
Couldn't finish it!
Cheese stick eaten on the way to the bank - I think all cheese should have jalapeno peppers in it.
GIANT spinach salad with cabbage, cucumber, avocado, strawberries, walnuts & a balsamic vinaigrette. I ended up picking all the strawberries, avocado and walnuts out at the end. Great combo!
Yogurt mess with 0% Fage & cinnamon on bottom,
and brown rice puffs w/almond butter on top.
Mandatory daily taste of chocolate.
As I walked over to sit back down on the couch I spotted Vern making out with the blanket. She does this a lot. Just licks it all over until I stop her or it gets soaking wet.
Guilty!
I searched my cupboard for dinner options until I found this cornbread mix.
Which went perfectly with my White Chicken Chili.
I had two pieces of cornbread - it's so addictive.
Workout: 6 miles on stationary bike and some stretching. Good news! I can finally place my hands 75% flat on the floor in front of my toes. I never used to be able to touch my toes at all.

So, I got into a discussion with a friend of mine the other night about my healthy eating habits. He mentioned that he's been cutting down on portions & really amping up the exercise but still can't seem to get away from junk food. H
e has lost almost 30 pounds by cutting down on portions and exercising more. I found this really intriguing. I find it so difficult to maintain a strict exercise schedule. Honestly I really dislike exercise. There, I said it!! I find it so much easier to eat clean and healthy meals so I don't have to worry if I've missed a workout (or three) that week.

What about you? Is it easier for you to eat clean/healthy or to exercise? I know a balance of the two is the best - which is what I strive for. Especially because I'm trying to build muscle. But if I had to pick one I'm going with clean eats. Like they say, "abs are made in the kitchen"!

    I'd say excercising is easier, if only because I can entice myself with unhealthy food :-/

  2. ohhhh LOOK at your new domain!! awesome, you go girlie! LOVING the eats! blooooberries with PB and oats are DELISH for sure! and cornbread..it looks bomb!! I have to be the brat who says Exercise AND healthy Eating!!...I can't exercise well when I eat unhealthy foods, so for me they go hand-in-hand! I hope you are having a great friday....and an AMAZING weekend!! xoxo!

  3. congrats on getting the domain but you just officially made me NOT get one because of the comment thing. i would die! i love all the wise words that come in!! i wonder if wordpress would save them...

    your white chicken chili looked fantastic, by the way.

    that pepperjack cheese looks so good. i love spicy cheese. haha.. vern is funny. i wonder why she loves the blanket so much?

    i think eating clean is easier for me than working out.. but i know that i have to do it all if i want to be where i want! hah. no longer are the days of a speedy metabolism :(

  4. Haha, sometimes I dislike exercise too, I think it has more to do with packing gym bag, walking to the gym, showering, getting dressed, drying hair, walking back and losing at least 1 1/2 hours for this.

    I think it's easier for me to just eat clean but doing exercise and sometimes giving myself a treat makes me feel happier so I roll with both plus a little junk. ;)

    FAB eats...awesome oats, killer salad and CORNBREAD?! Pretty much my dream day.

    Hmm. K. I don't know...deep down, honestly? I think I am really lazy. But I love the endorphins from exercise and love feeling like I have pushed my body to the limits. I am not (and never have been) a huge fan of junk food... I like it on occasion, but when I was growing up, my favourite snacks were raw mushrooms and raisins (yeah, I was that weird kid at school :P ) Ideally, I think the two go hand in hand, but they are also separate and it depends on your overall goal with food and/or working out. Not gonna lie- I like working out so I can eat more!

  6. umm addicted to cornbread..its a big problem when I make it bc I can eat the whole loaf, i kid you not!! looks so so good and now you have me CRAVING IT!

    I can't believe you couldn't finished that fage/blueberry snack!! even if I was full I would probably finish it it looked so good LOL

    I think for me, exercise is easier, I LOVE exercise and get really grumpy without it! I work hard so I can eat!! although I do love to eat clean too...hard question!

  7. Congrats on your own domain!! Eww to the weather - we're supposed to get a few flakes early next week. I'm not amused.

    That cornbread looks fantastic! I'm craving a piece of that now! I think eating healthy is so much easier for me - I lack the motivation to work out but I crave veggies up the wazoo!!

  8. Did u pay for the dot com? I was thinking of getting one but realized I'm not that popular yet! :( anyways I had a trainer once who told be getting fit/ losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. It's all about what you put in your mouth. So if you can eat right you're more than fine.
