Smoothie in a jar

Since the hubs is still away skiing (he gets back tonight) I was able to make a green monster for breakfast yesterday without worrying about waking anyone up with the blender. :)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • serving of chocolate fudge Biochem protein powder
  • scoop of honey almond butter
  • ~3 cups spinach
  • vanilla extract
  • ice
Mason jars are so fancy aren't they?? It was the only container large enough to hold the entire smoothie - which was a ton. I could barely finish it.
Mid-morning snack: New-to- me flavor
I've officially tried each flavor of Clif Mojo now and although they're all great, my favorite is still the Mountain Mix.
After work I ran back to Sports Authority to exchange the exercise ball I bought on Sunday - the one I got was for people who are under 5'4". I'm about 4 inches above that so I got the next size up (65cm). I'm excited to use it!

Afternoon snack: Roasted garbanzos
Dinner was a bit out of the ordinary - I was craving breakfast foods so I went with a simple yogurt bowl with plain Greek yogurt, almond butter, cinnamon, brown rice puffs and blueberries.
*Just a reminder, I'm not showing every bite of food in most of my posts unless noted otherwise*

Workout: 15 minutes on the Bowflex (shoulders, abs & legs) followed by 1 mile on the treadmill

March 1:
  • Fruits: 3 servings
  • Veggies: 1 serving <--- sad
Need to work on the veggie intake!!

What is your favorite piece of exercise equipment?? I'm excited about my new exercise ball but I really love my hand weights. If I belonged to a gym I know I would use the Power Plate a ton as well.

  4. Mountain Mix is tied for first alongside Peanut Butter Pretzel as my favorite Mojo bar. It is a yummy one! I like resistance bands :)

  7. I was just tweeting yesterday about how I have never tried a smoothie! Looks delish though. And I have a smoothie maker...one day! I haven't tried that MOJO- love the PB pretzel one though! Yum.

Fave exercise equipment...all I need is a dance floor ;)

  8. Yum ... I love Green Monsters! I always have to bring my blender with me to work, though, because I don't have a big enough container that's portable (that I can drink out of). And I never worry about waking up the husband ... he sleeps like a rock! You should try adding a T of chia seeds to your smoothie ... it makes it super thick and creamy!

My favourite pieces of exercise equipment lately have to be my treadmill and my yoga mat ... and my running shoes, of course. If I could add anything to my always-expanding gym collection, I think it would be a bosu ball. You can do so much with one of them!
