Weekend antics

We went bowling last night with four of our friends. We bowled four games and I started off with a pathetic score of 89.

The next two games I got a 113 and a score of 99. My husband, who is quite competitive, got 143 and 153 which completely blew me out of the water. Luckily I finally found my mojo and ended the night with a personal record-breaking score of 164!!! I'm so proud, can you tell? I got 4 strikes in a row. :) Recent eats from the past few days:

Spelt English muffin with cashew butter & cinnamon.
Savory oatmeal:
  • 1/3 cup oats, 2/3 water
  • 1 egg white
  • shitake mushrooms
  • laughing cow wedge
  • avocado
  • sun-dried tomato hummus
  • fried egg
  • Frank's hot sauce
Afternoon snack: apple and merlot
Another snack reminiscent of my girl, K. Spelt English muffin with cottage cheese and Spike. Loved it! Seems like I just can't get enough English muffins lately.
Breakfast juice blend of two carrots, an orange, two apples and some romaine. Over ice.
I also tried another flavor of the new Luna protein bars - chocolate peanut butter. It was good, not quite as good or fun to eat as the cookie dough flavor. It was a bit bland and tasted a little gritty? Not very peanut buttery either.
Sunday morning started off with a breakfast of waffles with Sunbutter and banana slices with scrambled eggs covered in hot sauce.
Like all my breakfasts seem to go lately, I couldn't finish it all.
What's the best thing you've eaten this weekend? That bowl of savory oatmeal was amazing - I'm already craving another one.

Top score in bowling??
164 -whoo hoo!

  1. Way to go with the 164 game... beats me!

My favorite meal this weekend has to be the steak fajitas we had for dinner last night, followed by fresh homemade strawberry rhubarb pie.

I don't always eat as healthy as you do. All things in moderation, right?

  2. Ah, fab score! Congrats! I am terrible at bowling...having fun is what counts, right? (please say yes! :P )

I need to try savoury oats one of these days. We are complete opposites right now- breakfasts are no problem for me, but my appetite goes AWOL the rest of the day. Strange.

Best thing I ate this weekend: vanilla protein cake topped with white chocolate peanut butter and mixed berry jam :)

  10. I'm a horrible bower. No joke--when I was super young, I got a pity trophy for bowling a 14. It was this tiny bowling pin thing with "14" written in marker. Oy...

I went through an English muffin phase a couple months ago. Now I have a freezer with two packages of English muffins and I'm sick of them. In time, I hope to invite them back into my life.

  11. Ug, I suck at bowling. I hate it - I got anxiety just looking at your pictures, haha - how lame.

Avocado in savory oats MAKES the bowl - I love it.

Also, I went to Sprouts AND King Soopers for my groceries today and I thought of you. :-)
