I'm still enjoying as much summer produce as I can. I'm up to my ears in squash, tomatoes and green beans from my mom's garden (thanks Mom!) and I keep stockpiling watermelons, mangoes, berries and peaches.
On the food front, I'm still aiming for high amounts of protein for breakfast and lunch. Egg whites are an easy option, especially because I can microwave them instead of dirtying a pan. I think I've finally had it with English muffins though. We had a good run but now I'm ready for something different.

The Arnica cream is made from the Arnica montana plant which has long been used for it's medicinal properties. It is most commonly used as an ointment for the treatment of sprains, muscle aches and bruises. I've been using it every time I get a new bruise but it's hard to tell whether they are healing on their own or as a result of the cream. Still - it can't hurt. :)
My favorite item, however, is definitely the Blender Bottle. It comes in multiple colors (I asked for anything but pink). There are also two different sizes: 20oz and 28oz.
The best feature of the bottle is the wire whisk, which thoroughly mixes any protein powders or lumps into your beverage. It's also extremely fun to use! The website recommends using the bottle to mix scrambled eggs or even pancake mix so I'm sure I'll be using this bottle for much more then just smoothies/shakes. Good thing it's dishwasher safe. :)
So far I've only used the whisk to blend a Carnation Instant Breakfast packet with some almond milk and the results were perfect. Creamy, smooth and even a little foamy. I haven't used it for a pure protein powder yet but I'm sure the results would be quite similar.
Yesterday morning I fueled myself with a trifecta of essential beverages: a chocolate banana protein shake (made in the blender, I like 'em THICK & icy), water and coffee.
Thanks again Cheryl, for the opportunity to try out these products!
I also spotted another fun product at the store that kept catching my eye. Nail art pens. I grabbed a white one and used it for a DIY pedicure yesterday afternoon.
( I apologize if you are like my husband & are grossed out by the sight of feet.)
By the way, how cool is that black & white pattern? (It's not mine.) If only I were ambidextrous...

I love that nail art! I need to get some of those pens! And that protein mixer. I need to add more protein to my diet, but I hate chunky protein shakes!
ReplyDeleteomg now your nails match your phone and your purse...hahah. BTW i have an arnica cream for my nasty bruises!! It makes it go away like 1-2 days faster but ain't no magic cream! btw no wonder u love summer you live in colorado! I'm battling with 107 degrees here! I'm baking Jesse!
ReplyDeleteI totally love those nail art pens. They are so much fun. By the way, I use arnica all the time for muscle aches. The hubby uses it, too. Those blender bottles are the best! I love mine. Your egg white sandwich looks divine! I'll probably make one tomorrow for breakfast. Yum!
ReplyDeletei wish fall lasted longer in utah, too. we are like you guys. i LOVE that bottle. i have three of them. you are so good at doing nails! cute! i wish i had toeneails but they are basically little slits of nothing.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the fall front. I so wish Colorado had longer falls. But then we couldn't wear our awesome winter coats over our adorable Halloween costumes...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the blender bottle! I have one in the smaller size, and I use it for daily protein shakes - it is magic! No more gross protein powder clumps, just blissful, foamy, well-blended shake!
Also - you're nails are adorable!
that whisk ball is so smart!!!
ReplyDeleteNail pens- genius! Wow girl, I'm learning a lot from your blog today! I LOVE DIY pedi's. I actually only ever do my own. I used to bejewel my toe nails til the 'jewels' poked holes in my socks. So I went to tiny nail stickers that I put on with crazy glue. One day I might act my age. Or not.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun info!
