This hearty Hobo Casserole is a perfect choice for a cozy dinner with the family. Packed with ground beef, beans, veggies, and topped with crispy tater tots and melted cheese, it's a satisfying comfort food that everyone will love!


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) corn, drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cups frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn, green beans, black beans, kidney beans, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes, or until heated through.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the tater tots on top of the mixture.
  6. Bake the casserole for 30 minutes. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the tater tots and return the casserole to the oven.
  7. Bake the casserole for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
